Felch, home of the 1975, 76, 77, 78 and 79 North Dickenson High School class reuion. It started at 3:00 pm. This is what the parking lot looked like then. It filled up at 5:00 because of the 'NO ALCHOHOL on site rule' Once a Yooper always a Yooper. BTW, the school colors are burgandy and white with a viking as a mascot. [North Dickenson--> Nor Diks---> Nordick's] The patriotic balloons were in celebration of the season.Yes, the site holds the US post office, a 2 or 3 times a week walkin in clinic, the community kitchen, half a dozen horse shoe pits, a play ground, a batting cage, a covered picnic area large enough for half the county, with two pit grills and two fields for the Labor day weekend hard ball tournaments enjoyed from either the bleachers or the hood of your car. Here is one of the fields from a distance. This is truly God's country.
This is the home team bleachers. The visitor's bleachers were rotting with Christmas trees growing between the seats. I gave a buddy from work fits because the Franklin visitor's bleachers were not welcoming. Felch wins.
Oh yeah, the way these middle aged high schoolers got around the alcohol rule was to keep their coolers in their cars and then make lots of trips to their cars.
